Stain Glass Windows/Las Vidrieras

Dear community,

Today I invite you to pause. To breathe. To look together at the stained-glass windows of our Church, those that seem to freeze the light of heaven in glass and color. Each window, each line, each figure… speaks to us of God. It reminds us that our lives are not by chance, that we are part of a plan, of a sacred story that began at creation.

Creation and our dignity

Look at the windows that show God creating the world. The earth, the heavens, the animals, man and woman… all is a gift. All is love made form and color. Here we learn that our lives are precious. That each of us is called to care for this world. That we are part of God’s work, and He entrusts His creation to us.

The life of Christ: a path of love

Let us continue to gaze at the windows depicting Jesus.

We see the Nativity: humility, tenderness, hope. God becomes small, weak, close… to teach us that the greatness of love is found in simplicity.

We see the Baptism of Jesus by Saint John. It reminds us that our life of faith begins with a “yes”: a yes to God’s love, a yes to the Spirit who guides us.

Further along, the Passion and the Cross. Pain. Sacrifice. Love that does not stop. Jesus gives everything for us. And we learn that following Him also involves sacrifice, dedication, and forgiveness.

And then… the Resurrection. Light, hope, new life. Christ has conquered death and invites us to walk with joy, even in dark days.

The Road to Emmaus, also depicted in the windows, teaches us something very profound: Jesus walks beside us every day. Sometimes we do not recognize Him. But He is there, breaking the bread of our daily lives, teaching us to see with eyes of faith.

The Holy Spirit: guide and light

The windows showing the Holy Spirit remind us that we are not alone. He guides us, strengthens us, consoles us. He gives us clarity to make just decisions and fills us with peace in difficult times.

The saints: witnesses of living faith

Saint Peter, the rock of the Church, teaches us steadfastness. Mary of Guadalupe, mother and guide, reminds us of humility and intercession. Saint James the Greater and Saint Lorenzo Ruiz show us that faithfulness to God sometimes requires courage, dedication, and perseverance.

The Four Evangelists: light that guides us

• Saint Matthew, the man, invites us to conversion, to open our hearts to the message of Christ.

• Saint Mark, the lion, calls us to courage, to proclaim our faith boldly.

• Saint Luke, the ox, teaches us service, compassion, and care for the most vulnerable.

• Saint John, the eagle, lifts us to the mystery, inviting us to contemplate God’s infinite love and eternal life.

Final reflection

Dear community, take a moment. Breathe. Look at the windows. Feel the light on your skin, the color in your eyes, the story of salvation before you. Each window is a silent teacher. Each color, each symbol, each scene… is a direct message from God to us: “Walk with me. Be courageous. Love. Forgive. Be light.” As we leave this Church, may we carry that light within us. May our lives be like these windows: full of color, of story, of faith, and above all… full of love.

Querida comunidad,

Hoy los invito a detenernos. A respirar. A mirar juntos los vitrales de nuestra Iglesia, esos que parecen congelar la luz del cielo en vidrio y color. Cada vitral, cada trazo, cada figura… nos habla de Dios. Nos recuerda que nuestra vida no es casualidad, que somos parte de un plan, de una historia sagrada que comenzó desde la creación.

La creación y nuestra dignidad

Miren los vitrales que muestran a Dios creando el mundo. La tierra, los cielos, los animales, el hombre y la mujer… todo es regalo. Todo es amor hecho forma y color. Aquí aprendemos que nuestra vida es preciosa. Que cada uno de nosotros está llamado a cuidar este mundo. Que somos parte de la obra de Dios, y Él nos confía su creación.

La vida de Cristo: un camino de amor

Sigamos con la mirada hacia los vitrales de Jesús.

Vemos la Natividad: humildad, ternura, esperanza. Dios se hace pequeño, débil, cercano… para enseñarnos que la grandeza del amor está en la sencillez.

Vemos el Bautismo de Jesús por San Juan. Nos recuerda que nuestra vida de fe empieza con un sí: un sí al amor de Dios, un sí al Espíritu que nos guía.

Más adelante, la Pasión y la Cruz. Dolor. Sacrificio. Amor que no se detiene.Jesús entrega todo por nosotros. Y aprendemos que seguirlo también implica sacrificio, entrega, perdón.

Y luego… la Resurrección. Luz, esperanza, vida nueva. Cristo ha vencido la muerte y nos invita a caminar con alegría, incluso en los días oscuros.

El camino de Emaús, también en los vitrales, nos dice algo muy profundo:Jesús camina a nuestro lado cada día. A veces no lo reconocemos.Pero Él está allí, partiendo el pan de nuestra vida cotidiana, enseñándonos a ver con ojos de fe.

El Espíritu Santo: guía y luz

Los vitrales que muestran al Espíritu Santo nos recuerdan que no estamos solos. Él nos guía, nos fortalece, nos consuela.Él nos da la claridad para tomar decisiones justas y nos llena de paz en los momentos difíciles.

Los santos: testigos de fe viva

San Pedro, roca de la Iglesia, nos enseña firmeza. María de Guadalupe, madre y guía, nos recuerda la humildad y la intercesión. Santiago el Mayor y San Lorenzo Ruiz nos muestran que la fidelidad a Dios a veces requiere valentía, entrega y perseverancia.

Los Cuatro Evangelistas: luz que nos guía

• San Mateo, el hombre, nos invita a la conversión, a abrir el corazón al mensaje de Cristo.

• San Marcos, el león, nos llama a la valentía, a proclamar nuestra fe con fuerza.

• San Lucas, el toro, nos enseña el servicio, la compasión, el cuidado de los más necesitados.

• San Juan, el águila, nos eleva al misterio, nos invita a contemplar el amor infinito de Dios y la vida eterna.

Reflexión final

Querida comunidad, tómense un momento. Respiren. Miren los vitrales.Sientan la luz sobre su piel, el color en sus ojos, la historia de salvación ante ustedes. Cada vitral es maestro silencioso. Cada color, cada símbolo, cada escena… es un mensaje directo de Dios a nosotros: “Caminad conmigo. Sed valientes. Amad. Perdonad. Sed luz.” Que al salir de esta Iglesia, llevemos esa luz dentro de nosotros. Que nuestras vidas sean como estos vitrales: llenas de color, de historia, de fe, y sobre todo… llenas de amor.
