Ministries
Lay Ministry
Lay ministers are parishioners who assist in the liturgy and in parish life through various roles of service. They bring their unique gifts to the heart of our community, helping to celebrate the sacred mysteries with reverence and devotion.
Lay Ministry Roles
Altar Servers
Assist the priest and deacon at the altar during the liturgy (often youth, but also adults).
Lectors (Ministers of the Word)
Proclaim the Scripture readings from the Old and New Testaments and the Prayers of the Faithful.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHC)
Assist in the distribution of the Body and Blood of Christ during Mass or to the homebound.
Sacristans
Prepare the altar, vestments, and sacred vessels before Mass and ensure everything is cleansed and stored afterward.
Ushers & Greeters (Ministers of Hospitality)
Welcome parishioners, assist with seating, coordinate the collection, and provide guidance during Communion.
Music Ministry (Cantors & Choir)
Lead the assembly in song and provide musical prayer that enhances the liturgical celebration.
