Our Faith
The Sacrament of Holy Communion
The Eucharist is the heart and summit of our faith at St. James the Greater. We believe in the Real Presence: that the bread and wine truly become the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ. As He promised, "I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever" (John 6:51).
Family Faith
The First Teachers
Preparation begins at home. Families are invited to pray together, attend Sunday Mass, and share the joy of Jesus' love in everyday moments at the dinner table.
Parish Classes
Walking Together
Children join our parish community for specialized sessions. Together, we explore the stories of Scripture and the beautiful mystery of the Eucharist as the Bread of Life.
Sacramental Readiness
Preparing the Heart
Readiness is a heart's desire to receive Jesus. Through simple reflections and first confession, we help every child feel welcome at the Lord's table.
THE SACRED LITURGY
The Mass
The Liturgy of the Eucharist is the heart of our celebration. It unfolds in three sacred steps: Preparation, where bread and wine are brought forward; The Prayer, where they truly become the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit; and Communion, where we receive Him into our hearts. For our children, this moment marks a joyful and holy encounter with their Lord for the very first time.
A Journey for a Lifetime
Receiving Holy Communion is just the beginning of a beautiful, lifelong friendship with Jesus. We invite your family to make Sunday Mass the heart of your week, continuing to grow in grace and love within our parish community.
